Biography

Since his childhood in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Wesli, singer, multi-instrumentalist and versatile producer has been working hard to perfect his art. The passion and joy of creating is reflected in his impressive curriculum. He initially started by accompanying, as a guitarist, some of the greatest artists of the Caribbean, African and Canadian music industry. Since 2008, Wesli and his band have performed regularly in more than 50 major Canadian festival venues, including some thirty performances each summer, and being the first act for artists such as Tiken Jah Fakoly, Magic System and Alpha Blondy. Wesli has participated in numerous radio and television programs including Belle et Bum, Des kiwis et des hommes, and Studio 12.

He has produced, composed and arranged music for films, including the documentary on Dany Laferrière produced by Radio-Canada. Whether it be in an acoustic setting (guitar, voice, percussion) or with his big band, Wesli delivers rich music, both festive, original and catchy. He immediately conquers his audience with complex arrangements and conscious lyrics. Critics have also dubbed him “the most formidable world music force that Montreal currently offers to the rest of the planet” – Alain Brunet, La Presse.
