Dramatik is undoubtedly a veteran and a pioneer of the Hip-Hop scene in Quebec. The grandson of a former conductor of the National Palace of Haiti, it was in 1996 that Dramatik formed ,alongside Imposs and J-kyll, his neighbors from Montréal-North, one of the leading groups of the Quebec Hip Hop scene : Muzion. His original phrasing, voice and uniqueness stands out and he has become an important part of music history in Quebec. Through two albums with Muzion (each winning a Félix at the ADISQ Gala) and after winning numerous freestyle competitions, Dramatik deserves the title of being one of the best rappers in Quebec. In 2004, internationally known artist Wyclef called on Dramatik and Muzion to collaborate on his song “24 heures à vivre” which became an instant hit. The video was number one on the Musique Plus countdown just like every other videoclips from Muzion. Following these successes, each member of Muzion focused on individual projects.
In 2009, Dramatik launches La Boîte Noire, his first solo album under the label 7ième Ciel. The album, which was very well received by the critics, was followed by the excellent Radiotherapy in 2014. Dramatik pays tribute to the music that has enabled him to survive. After performing at the Jazz Festival last year, Dramatik is currently working on new material!
